Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards like an Oscar for the film Piano. She began her career as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. The actress is a lover of acting since she started school. Her debut role in a show in the fifth grade was Helen Keller. As a result of having mumps, she became blind on the other side of her ears. However, this didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to be an actress. In college she studied theatre and then moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dream. Through a random encounter, she became trapped in an elevator along with playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which was Hunter's first performance. After moving to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get movie roles. The role of a supporting actress was found for Swing Shift. Her work spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in numerous TV shows as well as series and films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
